Topic 1: Introduction

Sporting joy for all is the vision of Norwegian sport. In this short video, Britt Leandersen talks about the goal of the Omnimodel for sport.

Welcome to the Omnimodel for sports

Norwegian sports have "Sports Joy for All" as their vision – Sports Joy for All (idrettsforbundet.no) It is an invitation to a sports community that is both spacious and consists of both diversity and difference. The goal is to create a community where we also accept different goals and conditions for participation.

Mastery, honesty and community are some of the values of Norwegian sports. This means that sports are value-oriented and want all activities to be rooted in these values.

The Convention on the Rights of the Child states that all children have the right to a leisure activity. Then we must also take seriously the fact that there are barriers that prevent participation. This is what much of the work in social sustainability is about. Sport is both physical and mental health, it is equality and it is social inclusion.

What can we help you with?

Through some short videos, you as a volunteer in Norwegian sports will get some input on what you can do to promote safe and good communities. How we can best create sports enjoyment, growth and development for everyone in Norwegian sports.

Through these videos we want to draw attention to the interpersonal and social aspects of doing sports. We know that one of the biggest driving forces in volunteering is being with others in a safe and good community. Use these videos as a starting point for reflection and discussion in everyday club life. Because a prerequisite for working value-oriented is to make the values alive and as concrete as possible. The decisive thing is practice and behavior that is shown through actions, attitudes and understanding.

Reflection tasks:

  1. Does the club have a set of values/value base? If yes, how are these implemented in the club's daily life? If no, what do you want to do with it?
  2. What values does your club have, and what do these values mean for your practice/behavior?
